Burlesque Cinema presents: Burlesque FRINGE FEED REVIEW

By February 3, 2021 No Comments

What a night! Comfy beanbags, saucy dancing, a cheesy movie and a stunning view of Perth skyline at sunset!

The evening starts by enjoying a beverage (or two!) whilst the voluptuous dancers mingle around the crowd, teaching us to shimmy and taking sexy selfies. The energy is electric and the crowd waits with titillated anticipation until the beauuutiful host, the Sugar Duchess, introduces the acts.

One by one the dancers perform their seductive sets. Each routine is uniquely exciting: from the silky and sensual Fifi Fontaine to the naughty but nice Peaches and Cream. The show’s kittens, Misty Falls and Lolly Moon, deserve a very special mention as these cheeky, curvy little minxes keep the audience giggling between each act.

Lulu Liqueur gives an incredible Latino performance before Wild Kat and John Doe are in the limelight with their enactment of Ali and Jack. The crowd squeals as the pair dances their sizzling sequence whilst the sun sets and the opening credits begin.

The film follows Ali (Christine Aguilera) as she ventures to Los Angeles to achieve her dream of becoming a dancer and stumbles upon a Burlesque nightclub owned by Tess (Cher). It has a predictable plot yet, judging by the crowd at opening night, it’s an absolute guilty pleasure for many.

What really makes this showing unforgettable is the immersive experience. During the favourite numbers, the live dancers from Tease Industries perform with the movie across the stage, along the aisle and among the audience. The crowd goes wild every time and with each wolf whistle, the feathers and the sequins shimmy that bit harder. This show is not one to miss!
