General Terms & Conditions

** Tease Industries (TI) respects all cultures, ethnicities, gender, ages and backgrounds. TI celebrates diversity, and seeks to engage individuals who also reflect these values.**
Application Process

  • Performers, volunteers and staff will be referred to as the ‘Contractor’ throughout these T&Cs.
  • Where information specifically applies to a performer (and not volunteers or staff) the term ‘Performer’ is used in place of Contractor.
  • Contractors seeking to be considered for TI shows or festivals should apply via the website teaseindustries.com or via email hello@teaseindustries.com
  • Specific applications may be opened for individual festivals and will be advertised separately.
  • Breach of these terms may result in immediate cancellation from TI employment, events and festivals.

Public Liability and Insurance

  • We require all performers to have their own ‘public indemnity’ personal accident insurance, and travel insurance if relevant; some options include Duck For Cover or DanceSurance. TI will have ‘Public Liability Insurance’ for all events but individual performances and travel or transport will not be covered.
  • Contractors shall indemnify and not hold TI liable in the case of any Public Liability or personal injury claim brought against them relating to the performance.
  • The Contractor agrees that they are liable for and will indemnify TI against all claims for damage or loss of equipment as a result of travelling to and from the performance venue and conducting the performance.

Communication

  • Correspondence will be via email and/or via a social media group that will be established for a particular show or festival.
  • It is an expectation that all Contractors read any correspondence that is related to their performance or role.
  • All correspondence between the Contractor and TI is confidential and must not be discussed with a third party before, during or after the show or festival.
  • TI will not tolerate damage, slander or libel which may cause harm or affect the reputation of TI or our events. This includes statements in writing, spoken word or images.

Creative Novelty

  • Once contracted by TI, the Performer agrees to not perform the same or substantially similar acts at ‘like’ or similar events 90 days prior to the commencement of the agreed show or 30 days after the agreed show without prior approval. We understand that performers need to work, however, if the Performer wishes to perform the same or substantially similar act in another show, we ask that you contact TI as soon as practicable to discuss.

Photography/Videography

  • Please be advised that some TI events will be photographed and videotaped. By submitting your application and accepting the ‘Terms and Conditions’ you are agreeing to allow TI to use images that you may appear in for ongoing promotional usage. TI is mindful of using any photos or footage in a professional and appropriate manner. We are sensitive to posting ‘partial nude shots’, such as pasties.
  • Any photos or footage used from a festival or show must be credited correctly with the following: <Name of Festival or TI>, performer name, photographer or videographer name as applicable. For example: “Perth International Burlesque Festival, Mx Example, Photograph by Awesome Photography”.
  • No photo or video of a TI event can be used commercially outside of TI unless given written permission.

Images and Music

  • Performer images provided should be high resolution (minimum 300dpi) jpg or pdf files suitable for print or media (i.e. no nudity) clearly labelled with the Performer’s name and photographer e.g. Mx Example-Awesome Photography.jpg.
  • We suggest images with a white or dark background for media, as ‘busy’ images are often not useable.
  • TI will credit photographers where we can, however it may not always be possible depending on circumstances outside of our control. If you do not have permission to use an image, please do not submit.
  • Music files must be labelled correctly with your stage name and show/s you are performing in (Mx Example, Gala Event.mp3). All tracks must be edited into one track.
  • Once music is provided by the Performer for an act, it cannot be changed or significantly altered unless approved in advance by TI.

Media and Marketing

  • It is an expectation that Contractors will actively participate in the promotion of all TI events in which they are involved. TI will in return promote the Performer and offer promotional opportunities as they arise.
  • TI will at times approach Contractors regarding publicity opportunities, which might include print, online or film. If you have a specific story of interest relating to your burlesque experience, please forward it to hello@teaseindustries.com

Venues and Technical Information

  • Technical information will be provided in advance of the TI event.
  • Show running orders and rehearsal times will be sent prior to the TI event but are subject to change at any time due to unforeseeable circumstances. Notification of any changes will be made as soon as practicable, and Contractors must be contactable by phone or email. Tech runs and/or rehearsals will be available at the venue wherever possible. Rehearsal times will be strict and subject to change. Late arrival may mean you forfeit your rehearsal.
  • Other than what is provided by the venue, TI does not hire additional technical equipment for individuals. If you require extra equipment for your role you must discuss with the TI team as soon as practicable.
  • Acts selected for shows or festivals MUST not be changed unless discussed with TI in advance. Acts can only be changed under extreme circumstances.
  • NO liquid, confetti, paint, chalk, blood, food, glass, spray or loose glitter, sharp objects or fire is allowed unless direct approval is given by TI. Please be aware that some venues have a NO GLITTER policy.

    • send a PDF invoice.
    • Invoices must be clearly labelled with stage name (if relevant), legal name, address, phone number, Australian Business Number (ABN), date of performance/s or role & fee.

  • Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Any person unable to function adequately during a performance or work due to excessive consumption of alcohol will be asked to leave the venue or premises forfeiting their fee/payment. No illicit drugs will be tolerated.
